Here are a few more suggestions:
The Johnson County Museum is a good place to go. It is free and they kids have an interactive play area where they can pretend all they want!
Bubbles are fun too.
Maybe it is a good time to bring on the paints! If they can't talk to you, they can express it through art.
How about taking them to walls of clay or is it jars of clay? They can paint their sculpture and bring it home for display!

I just found out about a TV show that helps kids learn words!
It is WordWorld on KCPT. A guy at work said his 2 year old watches it and has learned a lot of words and what those words are. For banana they spell it out in the shape of a yellow banana. I'm going to record this for Abby who isn't much of a talker.
